      • If you’re serious about OSRS botting, using a proxy isn’t optional — it’s essential. Whether you’re running one account or managing a goldfarming empire, proxies help you stay undetected, unflagged, and in control. In this guide, we’ll break down what proxies are and how to use them. What Is a Proxy for OSRS Botting? A proxy server acts as a middleman between your computer and the RuneScape servers. Instead of your IP address reaching Jagex directly, the proxy routes the connection — giving you a different IP address. Why it matters for botting: ✅ Avoid chain bans by isolating each account on a unique IP ✅ Run multiple bots at once safely ✅ Bypass Jagex’s IP flagging and tracking systems ✅ Mimic real-world users from different cities or countries Should You Bot Without a Proxy? Botting on your home IP is okay — but only to a point. If you’re running just 1–2 accounts, or maybe 3 with careful scheduling, you can usually get away with it, especially if you’re botting safely and using private scripts. But once you start scaling past that — 4 or more bots at once — you’re sending a big red flag to Jagex. Every account running under the same IP gets linked, and if one gets banned, the rest become collateral. That’s where proxies come in: they isolate accounts, prevent chain bans, and give you the flexibility to scale. If you’re building a farm, running mules, or running suicide bots, proxies aren’t optional — they’re mandatory. How to Set Up a Proxy for OSRS Botting Here’s how to connect your bots via proxy: Step-by-Step Setup: Purchase your proxies from any provider or use the one we recommend here. 1.Go to your bot client settings  2.Navigate to proxy tab 3.Add your proxy in the following format:   IP:PORT:USERNAME:PASSWORD Assign one to three proxies per account. Save and restart the client. Log in normally. That’s it — your accounts now run through separate, isolated IPs. Which Proxy Type Should You Choose? Residential proxies are best in our opinion.  Datacenter proxies get flagged or blocked by Jagex in many cases, even if you’re running low-intensity bots. Instead of trying to filter for “good” ones, just go with residential proxies from the start — they’re safer and more consistent. For more guides check our main website.
