Vlad 216 Share Posted July 6, 2015 Don't take this the wrong way because i definitely appreciate the work you guys put in, but this update has been known for awhile now. They announced it during the livestream they do on thursdays, and if you can't catch the livestream, it is on youtube. One of the developers should start watching them or atleast have a member of the staff dedicated to keeping up with such things. They announce things on twitter, youtube, and the forums that should help you prepare for the upcoming updates. I consider myself pretty up to date with RuneScape and I had no idea about this. In their additional notes they said they reopened the rat pits dueling, and I am assuming that they didn't want to give an explanation for the rat pits, so they rushed this update. I knew of the new slots coming but I didn't know they were coming on a Monday. like i said, they said it during the livestream. If i notice anymore updates coming on days other than thursday, ill pm devs i guess. Update seemed fairly small so didn't seem to break to many hooks etc but if it was a larger update and no one knew about it, dreambot could've been down for far longer than it was, we got lucky. If hooks break, we have to fix them (like what happened this update) On large actual game updates (such as when they added trading post, GE, etc) there are things we have to update in the client itself and release a new update for those things. But on thursday mornings I open up the analyzer and get everything ready to run updater and shiz and watch for the update so I can run it all asap.
