Worked fine for me.. you have to edit the commands a bit but I managed to get it to work.

brew install --cask adoptopenjdk8

It says it in the installer that cask is no longer a command, but an option you add to the end of a command. So this no longer works:

brew cask <command>

But you can format the cask command like an option/flag instead: 

brew <command> --cask

So the updated command should look like this:

brew install adoptopenjdk8 --cask
