AsBakedAsCake 179 Share Posted August 24, 2017 If a proxy has the same IP as another, but a different port, is it still the "same" proxy?

AsBakedAsCake 179 Author Share Posted August 24, 2017 (edited) Yes because it's the same IP Thanks for clearing that up quickly. I figured as much, I've caught multiple companies reselling me the same proxy as b4 with a new port/password. Now I'll just not use them at all xD No wonder the ban rates were starting to get worse than my home IP Edited August 24, 2017 by totalown2210
Polymorphism 48 Share Posted August 25, 2017 (edited) Yes because it's the same IP Yes and no. While it may be the same proxy server which you auth to, providers would use a reverse proxy server to delegate traffic dependent on the port or other criteria Apache has a nice article about it on their website. https://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/howto/reverse_proxy.html Thanks for clearing that up quickly.
