Not sure if the hopping works. Also when you kill sand crabs kinda fast it will run all over and "steal" other player's sand crabs which makes them mad a lot of times. It might make more sense to stay in your "own area". Other than that I have been using it for at least 6 hours in total now and has been pretty good.
