claymourn 0 Share Posted September 7, 2016 Why is it necessary to use a different MAC address for each account when that information is stripped away once it reaches the router?
Ruffski 3 Author Share Posted September 12, 2016 Why is it necessary to use a different MAC address for each account when that information is stripped away once it reaches the router? Because this is not necessarily true when it comes to runescape, yes your mac address is not transmitted through standard TCP/IP traffic but because the runescape client is running Java which theoretically has access to your MAC address, this could be transmitted through the game packet traffic and could be used to identify the same machine even if proxies were being used. Seeing as we don't know what Jagex's anti-ban techniques are, better to be safe than sorry.
