    I decided that I'd take a stab at using maven as it's always been an issue for me for some reason.

    When trying to create a shaded jar, I'm getting the following error message on the client.

    Java version is 1.8.0_401 and I haven't got another version installed.

    The only thing I can think could be an issue is one of the dependencies being compiled at a >1.8.0 version.  Unsure how to resolve this?

    Hope someone can help!
