bitflipped 0 Posted April 22, 2023 Hi folks, hope you're all well. I just got back into db, and the one thing I wanted to ensure is having proxies set correctly. I had initially bought a few hundred ipv4 datacenter proxies that authenticated via user/pw. I was told on the discord you generally want to avoid these so I upgraded the plan to residential static. The issue is, these proxies are generated with the same static domain name, port 80, and unique usernames. It is from webshare and is socks5, and while the ipv4 proxies had no issue running, these proxies, which are formatted like: proxy name: p.webshare.io, port: 80, user: daisnasdin-1 pw:0u1293bl don't run at all, even without any IP bind. I had read on other threads as long as it's SOCKS5 it should work. Or are only ipv4 addresses supported? Thanks for any help!
ImARealBot 5 Posted April 22, 2023 (edited) The proxies you have should be formatted as such: IP:Port:User:Pass - (123.456.789.0:12345:ImARealBot:Password1). The proxy name shouldn't be used for anything to connect it directly into DB UNLESS you want to use it under the "Nickname" section when adding to your proxy list. If they did not list the actual proxy IPs & ports either on your account or email them to you, I would contact their support team to get what you paid for. With that being said, make sure that you get a NON rotating RESIDENTIAL SOCKS5 IP and not a Data Center or HTTP/HTTPS IP. IPv4 is usually the industry standard from everything I've read. Also, I don't believe you can just turn data center proxies into residential ones. You may need to just start clean slate and get new proxies to avoid any issues (or see if they will swap them for you if they are still brand new). If you are still having issues try this website for proxies instead. Found the link here in the forums and they have been working great for me.
