jackman331 0 Posted August 3, 2021 Hi everyone. I'm new here. Used to play runescape/osrs quite a bit many years ago. I want to get into writing bots for osrs using JavaScript. My main goal of doing this isn't to make money or to actually play runescape. Rather, I want to leverage building osrs bots to re-discover my passion for programming. I have tried to get back into programming for a long time, after shuttering my last project down about 6 months ago. Unfortunately I've been in a slump recently and can't find any motivation to program at all. But the thought of programming bots for video games, specifically grindy MMO's like osrs and albion online, got me excited to write code again. I should mention I'm on Mac (prefer not to use PC) and want to program in JavaScript, preferably in a Node.js environment, if possible. Anyone who has any tips/pointers on how and where I should get started, would be greatly appreciated! I am also excited about the idea of writing my own osrs client, as opposed to using another client (e.g. dreambot or runelite), if possible.
