Grimbles 20 Share Posted September 26, 2017 Let's say you're running five clients connected to five different proxy servers. Does each of these proxies bring down the speed of the main internet connection if it's connected to the five clients? If so, how much would the main connection be brought down speed-wise? Also does there need to be a main internet connection for the proxy to run? For example, without an internet connection you can't access a proxy server? Thanks Edit: different emoji choice

swift 22 Share Posted September 26, 2017 The speed is brought down once youve connected through the proxy. Example 1 client 100mbps without proxy with proxy it may be 80-90mbps. If your proxy is closer to where the client is hosted and the proxy has much higher internet speed then the client then you can bring the overhead down a bit but there will always be a little bit of speed lost if the proxies are hosted outside of the client connection.
