fairy rings

hey i was trying to write some script witch involved making use of the fairy rings. i been playing around abit with the stuff but i cant figure it out. i got a feeling the methods on the api are not working. when i write down this code and stand next to the fairy ring, it just hovers over it but doesnt want to open up the interface. anyone got some idea on how to use them?
