AsBakedAsCake 202 Share Posted November 1, 2017 So needless to say Ive had plenty of problems with the computer I bought about 8 months ago and I thought I had everything sorted out finally. The computer has windows 10. Now I boot up, log in, everything loads fine, but when I try to open a web browser or do anything besides sit on the desktop... it just goes to a green blank screen of nothing. My computer worked 100% fine last night. I was gaming/listening to music/botting no problem, then today I got slapped with this. I've tried cold booting, unplugging everything from the computer, checking the monitor on my xbox[which works fine] Any idea what I can do about this? I really don't want to go back to best buy for the 4th time over the same computer. (No i didn't get it there but they've been great about fixing it and even offered me a job because of my interest in computers.) After the green screen hits all I can do is press the power button, nothing else works... Please helppppp Edit: Also I tried to update windows and it does say update failed then shortly after green screen into hell

swift 22 Share Posted November 1, 2017 Yeah its most likely your gpu I had the same issue when I bought one refurbished. EDIT: Try messing with the inputs make sure they're all tight etc and check gpu is in mobo properly, if that doesn't work its most likely fried. F*ck thats really not good considering i have an rx480.... FML I've also had to replace every single fan in this PC, do you guys think the power supply could be causing other parts to fail? RetroBot 35 Share Posted November 1, 2017 Try booting up the pc with only the monitor plugged into the GPU (without HDMI). I got a second-hand GPU from a friend and for some reason whenever I plugged in my hdmi cord to hook my tv up aswell it would tint green. Eventually I got it working by turning pc on/off multiple times and unplugging/plugging up the HDMI carefully. Also did you buy this PC from a store or did you buy the parts? You should have some kind of warranty on the parts/PC itself since it has only been 8 months
Dreamlicker 750 Share Posted November 1, 2017 Plug the HDMI cable into your motherboards HDMI port instead to determine if the problem is with your graphics card.
AsBakedAsCake 202 Author Share Posted November 2, 2017 Plug the HDMI cable into your motherboards HDMI port instead to determine if the problem is with your graphics card. The problem is if I plug the HDMI into the other ports the screen doesnt turn on at all. just stuck at no signal. I have to plug into the graphics card for the screen to even work, I've tried every port. Looks like im headed back to best buy.... This was a pre-built pc Try booting up the pc with only the monitor plugged into the GPU (without HDMI). I think they've blacklisted me or something because all my fans went bad and they had to send me out more already, then they went bad AGAIN. When I went to best buy, they basically said the fans were cheap pieces of sh*t. But considering im still UNDER warranty for like 4 months, isn't it illegal for them not to send me my part/ignore my emails/phonecalls? The only reason I bought pre-built online was because a few of my friends recommended pre-built because I did not know how too build my own, and I'd still get a better deal than in store price. In the end I wish I had just gone to best buy and bought a computer... (which everyone said NOT to do, smh...)

Some companies honor their warranty no questions asked while others basically give you the run around until you get annoyed and stop contacting them. For example, my Lenovo laptop's case started to break apart due to the hinges detaching from the bottom of the case (only after a few months) and they refused to replace it since they said it was caused by me even though plenty of people reported the same problem with that make/model. My fiance had a problem with her Dell laptop and they had her send it in and fixed it then sent it back all within a week. It might be too late now, but if you can get a refund go for it. Black Friday is coming up in a few weeks and you can buy some PC parts and learn how to build a better computer for cheaper. It really isn't as confusing as it looks, and it's actually pretty easy. I haven't said the brand because I'm actually embarrassed with myself for buying this POS. My friends talked me into Cyberpower PC and I paid $720 for this computer. It's literally the worst thing I've EVER done. I sat on their website trying to contact them through live support and it just kept BSing me saying a representative would be with me in 30 seconds, then after about 20 minutes of waiting it just said "chat ended." I then emailed the company and called but I've been completely ignored so far. They're in Cali, I'm in MI. I called them at 4pm my time so I know they were at the office. With this computer I feel as if I'm completely stripping the inside slowly and replacing it all. When I originally contacted them for my fans, they tried to get me to send it back AND pay the shipping fee of ($275) to fix it. I told them to send ME the fans and pay for the shipping and they basically said they would because I'm a "new" customer. Thank god I didnt do that because if I have to spend another $200+ on a gfx card I would basically be paying the same price I paid for the whole computer. It's already turning into half the cost it was $40+ the price of the fans to replace at best buy, and I've already been twice, (for 3 different POS case fans, totaling over $100 for all of them to be replaced) ugh.. crap. Thanks for the help though guys.
