Nuclear_Beers 3 Author Share Posted August 30, 2017 VNC (TightVNC, TigerVNC, Remmina, etc..) or TeamViewer teamviewer? Teamviewer works for me. Thanks a lot for your replies guys! VNC seems to work perfect for me! Mstsc is great if you have a windows machine much nicer than team viewer. Do they also have a mac version for this? VNC works great for me, just make sure you secure it with ssh and key-based authentication. Is this necessary? Because I can't figure it out! TightVNC. CodeWombat 4 Share Posted August 30, 2017 Is this necessary? Because I can't figure it out! Thanks Yes! VNC by default is very insecure! Passwords are only 8 characters long and are unencrypted. The solution is to only allow connections from localhost and then use SSH to securely log into the computer you need to access using what's known as "tunneling". There are lots of easy to follow guides you can find with Google to help you secure your VNC setup.
