We can't really force people to trade with middlemen.

Just like you can't force people to not make private scripts.

Middleman services require a user to do at least a small amount of research, eg: reading some rules.

Forcing a post count means there would be a large amount of spam introduced into the forums. Overall that would just make the content here worse, and it'd give the mods much more work to do.

They'd spam the count, post their thread, and either immediately get banned for spamming or they'd sell the account.

I would honestly guess a good chunk of the market activity we have had (as far as new users, new posts, etc) are people who come here just to sell their old main. They're not here for a long term thing. Forcing them to wait would just turn them away, forcing them to post would encourage them to spam, or turn them away.

Forcing them to buy a rank would turn them away.

Most users just requiring staff approval on a post would turn them away, as they'd post, not see it, assume something broke and leave.

Either that or our staff would just get a lot more work to approve posts that as somebody else pointed out, would most likely come up clean unless the person is an idiot.
