[can't connect to a proxy with DBclient]

Use no proxy, or use a different proxy that supports the auth, or add that QuickStart arg to not use the proxy during auth (you'd need VIP for that though).

['Dismiss Random Events' not functional]

I've personally seen it dismiss a random event yesterday, so I'm sure it's still working.

Like Max said above, it can start a random time after it appears, and very rarely it'll completely ignore them.

It also won't dismiss them if you're in combat, so that could be another factor?
