    1. 1. Should this be implemented?

    Recommended Posts

This post is a proposal for a new staff position to be implemented. The role can be called "Market Manager" and is similar to the SDN manager, their main duties could be:

    1. To rid the sections of old & inactive posts.
    2. Regularly check on negative feedback and follow it up for a potential dispute.
    3. Regularly check on all feedback to ensure it follows the rules.
    4. Vet all the new/existing sellers on their advertisements & generally any previous offsite scams or anything else that could damage the community.
    5. Maintain a topic that is a database for scammers that have targeted our community.
    6. Maintain a pinned topic on each section that outlines the most used sales topics.

    Current Market Issues:

    1. An abundance of inactive/old posts.
    2. Plenty of negative feedback that isn't followed up by a dispute.
    3. Plenty of positive feedback that doesn't follow the rules.
    4. Duplicate topics.

Disclaimer: I have expressed that I'll do this role but obviously I have conflict of interest (shouldn't matter) and my staff application was declined anyway. So if you think this is an attempt for me to become a staff member then you're thinking wrong.

    - Please post opinions below, maybe these duties can be implemented for the current staff or a new role called "Market Manager".

    I agree 100% with this.

If need be I think two temporary positions should be opened for this, allowing 2 members to try out (and also help catch up) , for the community to vote on a final person?

This way the backlog clears faster and the community can see how effective the position is. It might take 2 members anyway depending on the activity level of the forums.

    Best,

    Buddy

Personally think this would be a great addition to the community in keeping the market a safer place to trade with newer members and sellers :)

In general, all of our staff positions are a "Try before you hire" kind of thing, i.e. Trial mods. That said I can't see us letting you guys vote (not that I don't trust you guys, I do) because someone with the position as outlined above would have a lot of power and a community vote could prop up someone with a lot of hidden bias or something like that. I agree with the trial staff system though =)

I understand what you are saying. Maybe that should be why two users have access to it, allowing for a balance of power?

I imagine there is an "archive" that can be restored, at least that's how it was when I used to use IPB.

Regardless I'm glad you're on board!

Is the market even active enough to warrant this?

Some proxy sellers and if we are lucky once a week an account seller(which get recovered)
